SAP Intelligent RPA, deployed in the cloud and available as an SaaS, is an automation suite from SAP Leonardo where AI bots mimic humans by replacing clicks, interpret communications, or make process suggestions.

One of the recent updates in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud 1908 is the integration of Intelligent RPA into many new capabilities across SAP S/4HANA Cloud, which sets the standard for effective application of intelligent technologies. Alongside with it, the SAP S/4HANA Cloud 1908 release also included incorporation of embedded analytics to make companies smart and integration of intelligent ERP into line-of-business capabilities to streamline end-to-end processes.

Intelligent RPA Integration

SAP Intelligent RPA has been one of SAP’s major focus and investment helping organizations in their journey to an Intelligent Enterprise. The SAP solution embeds intelligence and automation into end-to-end processes in a scalable way.

The 1908 release incorporates Intelligent RPA in several capabilities such as bank statement reprocessing in finance, predictive manufacturing resource planning (MRP) in manufacturing, and purchase order confirmation in procurement.

“My situations” is a new capability that provides a notification framework informing users where action must be taken once the system has identified an issue. Indeed, this capability is a step up to what intelligent RPA can do.

SAP Analytics Cloud Integration

The recent SAP S/4HANA Cloud 1908 release also focused on the integration of SAP Analytics Cloud. Embedded analytics advances from responsive to proactive support with the SAP S/4HANA Cloud 1908 release. Integration of SAP Analytics Cloud into the finance data model enables the easy transfer of information between the two applications. With this capability, the Finance team can now derive and plan sales prices, simulate and plan sales quantities, among other tasks.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors Integration

The German ERP software company has put much emphasis on building robust integration capabilities that will enable easy management of end-to-end processes across the enterprise. The 1908 release provides integration between SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors solutions to deliver dashboards for combined HR and finance insights into areas such as workforce diversity and workforce performance.

Corporate-to-subsidiary Integration

Effective collaboration is essential in the road to becoming an intelligent enterprise, especially in a multiple ERP environment. Some companies would benefit more from leveraging the intricacy of on-premise intelligent ERP at the corporate level while their subsidiaries may be requiting a cloud solution. Effective collaboration is only possible with robust integration between corporate and its subsidiaries, a clear delineation of roles and responsibilities, and real-time visibility across the company.

SAP intelligent ERP solutions give organizations the flexibility to choose what’s best suited for their enterprise. The 1908 release underpins a robust set of corporate-to-subsidiary integrations that delivers additional capabilities to help corporate manage subsidiaries. These include the ability to manage pricing centrally, manage services purchased from a subsidiary, and a centralized financial close. Country versions, key for the subsidiary ecosystem, go from 40 to 42 with the addition of Czechia and Thailand.

Tapping the Professional Services Industry

Aside from finance, procurement, and HR sectors that would benefit from the latest update, the 1908 release also brings additional capabilities to the professional services industry. These include usage-based billing, more flexibility to manage engagement pricing, improved management of cost rates, and better ways to manage staff resources.

Predictive MRP, improved capabilities for available to promise, tighter alignment with repetitive manufacturing processes, more effective management of goods in transit, and better capacity planning will greatly benefit the discrete manufacturing and supply chain industries.
