SAP SuccessFactors Learning Boosts Wellstar Health System’s EX

SAP SuccessFactors Learning provides Wellstar Health System employees with a more streamlined and intuitive learning experience.

With the goal of enhancing employee learning and development, Wellstar Health System began exploring the possibility of implementing a learning management system (LMS) from SAP. After careful consideration, the organization decided that such a system would be beneficial for their employees and would deliver a better user experience (UX). By making this decision, Wellstar Health System has taken an essential step in ensuring that its staff has access to the resources and support they need to grow and develop. Wellstar Health System is already an SAP SuccessFactors customer, so it was familiar with the company’s offerings and recognized that it might benefit from SAP SuccessFactors Learning. Wellstar Health System’s Head of Learning Technology Danielle Mecum thought that more effective management of the system was a vital component in reaching that goal. The employee experience (EX), as expressed by Mecum, declines in the absence of effective management.

“Not only our employees without clinical experience but also our medical staff took longer before they could go to the ward and take care of the patients. It was because of the way the necessary training was organized,” Mecum further explained.

Moreover, Wellstar Health System and its Customer Engagement Executive agreed to launch a project to improve software usage as a means of resolving HR-related issues. Using SAP in this manner enables clients to map out the next steps and gain a deeper understanding of how to maximize the benefits of the solution. The implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Learning at Wellstar Health System demonstrated the necessity of a collaborative framework.

As part of the SAP project, Wellstar Health System did the following:

  • Establish a system to oversee learning materials at every stage of their development. A formal method was built for requesting additional features, courses, and profile-based assignments.
  • Implemented a checking procedure wherein the person in charge of a course is alerted immediately upon the expiration of the course’s materials.
  • Determined that more custom fields in SAP SuccessFactors Learning were required in order to properly log and generate reports based on critical data. In doing so, Wellstar Health System ensured that the new governance process was strictly adhered to.

Implementing SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System

Now more than ever, businesses are turning to SAP SuccessFactors Learning solutions to support their staff in developing new capabilities, adapting to shifting industry standards and customer expectations, and expanding their horizons in terms of potential career advancement. The German technology giant believes that companies can help their employees build careers that are both emotionally rewarding and beneficial to the company by providing them with learning opportunities that are accessible and relevant to them.

In particular, the SAP SuccessFactors Learning implementation at Wellstar Health System has resulted in even more positive outcomes for the organization. Ultimately, the greatest benefit is a more meaningful interaction for the employees. Within three days, rather than seven and a half, new hires are ready to dive headfirst into their work.

“We knew we had to be specific about what goes into the system. Because that’s the only way we can control what comes out. This is helpful when we need to get rid of outdated courses,” Mecum remarked.

SAP’s learning management system support features have been steadily upgraded recently. In October 2021, the company introduced its new SAP SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace solution, which provides employees with tailored suggestions for professional development opportunities including courses, mentorship, and brief projects. The offering is backed by the center of capabilities which is a centralized system embedded throughout the SAP SuccessFactors Human Experience Management (HXM) package.
