SAP Business One Academy kicks off its first module on basic finance on 11th February 2020 at SAP Clockhouse Place, Middlesex, UK.
The SAP Business One Academy was recently launched by the UK & Ireland SAP User Group (UKISUG) after recognising the need to upscale the skills of SAP Business One users. Customers and resellers who will join the academy will experience classroom-based and online training and receive SAP Business One Associate Certification.
“Our members have frequently highlighted that there is a shortage of appropriate SAP Business One training for customers. User organisations require people with end-user or expert-level skillsets, while VARs (value added resellers) require their consultants to be certified and knowledgeable to implement the software for their customers,” said Craig Dale, UKISUG Chief Executive.
SAP Business One is known as the ERP software for small businesses designed to grow with them, give them control over business or subsidiary and streamline processes. In 2002, SAP acquired the Israeli company TopManage Financial Systems, which originally developed the Business One ERP system.
Dale said that despite having around 3,000 Business One customers in the UK, many still don’t have the IT resource. He detailed:
“It is sold 100{8bf2b29f36318f0ac46ab1cc03d7035abce669a1cea16c9ed62389a818fa22fd} through the channel. Let’s say three to four of the reseller partners own about 80{8bf2b29f36318f0ac46ab1cc03d7035abce669a1cea16c9ed62389a818fa22fd} of the market. Now, they will do a bit of training at customer days, but that still leaves a lot of companies without training or education.”
According to UKISUG Chief Exec, since the set up of the Business One special interest group in 2006, training has been going well. However, he sees the opportunity in growing the 50 Business One customers by tapping non-members and consultants from SAP partner companies. He added:
“We will aim to build more of a Business One community through the training.”
The SAP Business Academy One intends to run two-three modules this year with anticipated 50-70 participants. CRM, basic finance, logistics, administration and setup through to expert-level training are some of the core modules of the programme.
“If you are a small 10-15-employee business, having someone away two to three days at a time is a big loss and often there will be aspects of training that aren’t relevant to that person’s job role. We have worked really closely with SAP to ensure that users are provided with a short and affordable course, which delivers the training they need,” explained Dale.
SAP UK & Ireland Head of Business One and BusinessByDesign Matt Sinclair has expressed the company’s support to UKISUG’s new endeavor. He said:
