Latest version of SkyMobile released

Enterprise mobility solution provider Sky Technologies has released version 24 of its Sky mobile enterprise application platform (MEAP).

This latest version includes a built-in secure container for all major smartphone platforms, advanced identity management capability, and modular application design features to address the needs of mobile enterprises.

“The latest release of SkyMobile provides integrated security, provisioning, and modular design customisation features to intelligently answer the growing challenges of enterprise mobility,” said Troy O’Connor, CEO of Sky Technologies, adding that this version has been informed by feedback received from clients.

According to Sky, the integrated SkyMobile secure container is a first-of-its-kind native application server, providing a secure virtual environment on mobile devices within which to run SkyMobile applications and store data. This mobile enterprise framework provides true ‘configure once, run anywhere’ capability, offering a single, consistent, secure method to provision applications and seamlessly synchronize data across all major device types.

SkyMobile’s new identity management feature makes applications context-, user- and device-aware, allowing each individual user to access only the applications and data they are authorised to use. This allows for multi-tenant data segregation and mobility on-demand and can be automated by the use of dynamic profiling.

The new release also provides the ability to implement modular applications, reducing the time and data needed to deploy and update applications, and providing increased flexibility. Paired with the identity management feature, role-based modules go beyond traditional custom-programmed approaches and give greater flexibility and a significantly lower cost of ownership.

A demonstration version of SkyMobile v24 is now available in app stores.
