SAP and Qualtrics Unveil New Employee Experience Solutions

SAP and Qualtrics have announced a renewed partnership, integrating their technologies to provide organizations with advanced tools aimed at enhancing employee experiences and workforce engagement.

In November 2018, SAP SE announced its intent to acquire Qualtrics International Inc. for $8 billion, recognizing the potential of combining Qualtrics’ experience management capabilities with SAP’s operational data to help organizations take informed actions.

Following the acquisition, Qualtrics operated as an independent entity within SAP, allowing it to maintain its innovative approach while leveraging SAP’s extensive resources and market reach. In July 2020, SAP announced its intention to take Qualtrics public, aiming to strengthen Qualtrics’ ability to expand its leadership in the experience management category.

Qualtrics went public in January 2021, trading on the NASDAQ stock exchange. In March 2023, Silver Lake and CPP Investments acquired Qualtrics for $12.5 billion, making it an independent, privately held company.

Despite these ownership changes, SAP and Qualtrics have maintained a strong collaborative relationship. Their latest partnership under the SAP Endorsed Apps agreement enables organizations using SAP SuccessFactors to integrate Qualtrics XM for Employee Experience. This integration provides tools such as People Engage, People Lifecycle, and Employee Technology Experience, equipping HR teams to enhance team dynamics, refine managerial strategies, and make informed workforce decisions.

The partnership also introduces new Qualtrics AI capabilities, including:

  • Qualtrics Assist for Employee Experience: Utilizes AI-powered natural language understanding to rapidly analyze employee feedback, providing clear and actionable insights for improving employee experience.
  • Qualtrics Comment Summaries: Automatically aggregates and summarizes employee feedback into clear themes, allowing managers to quickly identify patterns while ensuring employee anonymity.
  • Qualtrics Conversational Feedback: Instantly analyzes survey responses and prompts for clarification on vague answers, providing richer and more detailed insights into each employee’s experience.

Brian Stucki, President & Chief Operating Officer at Qualtrics, emphasized that this collaboration aims to equip businesses with AI-driven insights to enhance employee experience strategies. He highlighted the role of AI within the EX Suite, enabling leaders to make timely and well-informed decisions that strengthen trust and engagement within their teams.

The enhanced integration of SAP and Qualtrics further reinforces SAP’s commitment to fostering a human-centered approach to workforce management.
