Ged Doyle, most recently CIO at La Trobe University, has established a private consulting business, Matamy Consulting, to assist with value realisation opportunities for others in the industry.
Doyle has an impressive 40-year track record of IT leadership, having been the primary architect of a number of business/IT transformations in the manufacturing, oil and gas, solar energy and higher education sectors, for companies including Woodside Petroleum, ACI Packaging Asia Pacific, and O-I. Doyle has implemented SAP systems and other business solutions in more than 30 countries around the world.
He has also not shied away from ‘bleeding edge’ innovation, as the first to implement the SAP Master Data Management module in Europe, the first to implement SAP Student Lifecycle Management in Australia. Most recently, he spearheaded the 18-month project to implement SAP Simple Finance at La Trobe, becoming the first SAP customer in the world to do so.
Now “semi-retired”, Doyle is looking to share this experience, with Matamy to focus on services such as:
- IT/business transformation
- ‘Lean’ business processes
- Business value realisation
- Business intelligence and visualisation
- Organisation performance management
- Strategic and tactical operations planning, and
- Mentoring of “junior” CIOs and high potential employees, to enable them to have “executive conversations” with CxOs.
