CN Group has implemented SAP Business ByDesign at Queensland-based, off-road vehicle accessories company, Outback Armour, in less than four weeks.
As a new business, Outback Armour chose SAP Business ByDesign to ensure that the business’s financial and resource planning systems remained consolidated as they grew.
Richard Catelan, CEO, Outback Armour, said that as a new company with extensive industry experience, it was clear what kind of solution would help make Outback successful, and SAP Business ByDesign was the ideal choice to build the brand’s credibility.
Catelan said the company was “looking for a solution that would work for us now and in the future… SAP allows us to do this and is a brand people respect and recognise. I feel that working with SAP not only gives us the solution we need but also adds to our overall reputation”.
“Having first class enterprise systems in place helps to reassure customers that we are serious about our business and providing them with high class of products, services and customer experience,” Catelan said.
Greg Harbor, vice president, on-demand solutions at SAP, praised the goals of the project.
“Outback Armour is a new company concentrating on getting the basics right from the start,” he said. “This is a great example of how SAP Business ByDesign can be used to give new businesses a head start and benefit from the flexibility offered by the solution.”
Since Outback conducts its business on a national and international level, this flexibility was particularly important when it came to ensuring the solution was entirely mobile. The cloud-based operation of the solution allows for employees to access the system on their laptops or mobile devices.
The fully integrated solution also provides access to SAP best practice business processes and is scalable to meet the demands of the business as it grows. Outback can activate and deactivate specific functions as needed, and the solution includes future upgrades for no additional fees.
“The embedded self-help learning offered by SAP Business ByDesign allows Outback Armour to train employees quickly without the need for large training budgets,” Harbor says. “We are also constantly adding new functionality which is accessible to all users, new or existing.”
Mark Anderson, CN Group general manager for Queensland, said the company was happy to “assist in dispelling the myth that SAP is just for large enterprises”.
In addition to the fast implementation, Anderson said it was also very low-cost.
“Due to the nature of SAP Business ByDesign no dedicated infrastructure or specific IT skills were required, thus reducing the cost of implementation,” Anderson said.
