Gartner has positioned SAP in the leader’s quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM).
SAP was placed for their Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Solutions, which support the principles of CCM.
Gartner’s magic quadrant is a graphic representation of how companies match up in a particular market, based on criteria defined by Gartner.
Gartner regularly publish data from magic quadrants across numerous markets in the IT space.
This is Gartner’s inaugural Magic Quadrant Report for the CCM market.
Although Gartner says the CCM market is not ‘mature’, the leaders in the field offer proven solutions.
“The CCM market is far from mature, but the leaders in the market have had a significant presence in the market for many years,” the Gartner report reads.
“They all have strong, market-tested CCM for segregation of duties (CCM-SOD) capabilities and offer CCM for transactions (CCM-T).”
SAP’s primary solution in the space is SAP BusinessObjects governance, risk and compliance, which encompasses risk management, access control, environment health and safety, and process control, amongst others.
“Their CCM for application configuration (CCM-AC) and CCM for master data (CCM-MD) capabilities are adequate to support primary CCM-SOD and CCM-T functions. When lacking in multiplatform capabilities, they have services and technology partnerships to fill the gap,” Gartner said.
SAP said their solution is integrated with SAP BusinessObjects enterprise performance management (EPM) solutions to bring customers increased visibility into their entire enterprise
Gartner describes the market as an important factor in “reducing business losses from fraud or failure to follow rules governing financial transactions, and improving performance through continuous monitoring.”
