SAP has been positioned in the Leaders’ Quadrant of Gartner’s latest Business Intelligence and Analytics Magic Quadrant report.
SAP introduced several key innovations in the business intelligence platform in 2012, including the release of SAP Visual Intelligence software, which allows employees, departments and lines of business to creatively visualise and analyse information and apply it to individual and group decision-making, according to SAP.
Mobile BI was a strong focus for SAP in 2012, with the company introducing the SAP BusinessObjects Mobile mobile app, designed natively for iPad.
SAP Predictive Analysis software was also introduced in a move to help companies gain insights from “big data”.
“Business intelligence and analytics are creating competitive advantage for companies that can take advantage of new information streams and provide real-time data to all employees,” said John Schweitzer, senior vice president and general manager, analytics, SAP.
“We believe this recognition by Gartner of our enterprise BI strength and the innovation we are delivering across self-service, mobile and predictive analytics is a testament to how we enable our customers to win with analytics.”
