SAP launches two new real-time applications

SAP AG has announced two new solutions based on in-memory computing platform, SAP HANA – SAP Smart Meter Analytics and SAP CO-PA Accelerator software.

The announcement was made at SAP TechEd Las Vegas.

The new solutions were developed by SAP product and design teams working in close collaboration with customers, and are designed to give users real-time insight into ‘big data’, allowing them to leverage vast amounts of information for analysis, planning, forecasting and simulations in a more fluid, natural way.

As utility companies face an exponential increase in data volume generated by smart meters, SAP Smart Meter Analytics aims to help utility companies to turn this data into insights that they can use to develop more tailored customer offerings. For example, utility companies could help customers adopt more sustainable energy-use practices with planned capabilities, such as instantly aggregating and analysing customers’ energy consumption profiles, more precisely segment customers for targeted energy-saving programs, and empowering customers with direct access to energy usage insights via web portals and mobile devices.

Corporate finance departments will benefit from the SAP CO-PA Accelerator software, which aims to improve the speed and depth of working with large volumes of financial data. It will enable companies to perform real-time profitability reporting on large data volumes, run cost allocations significantly faster and provide self-service access to profitability information.

SAP CO-PA Accelerator can be deployed either by SAP Consulting as a rapid deployment solution or by an SAP partner, and it is planned for information alongside SAP BusinessObjects enterprise performance management (EPM) solutions.

SAP has also launched a new website to provide details of applications powered by SAP HANA, www.experiencesaphana.com, which is a community designed to share knowledge and insights for customers on SAP HANA.
