SAP to offer new MOOCs on Suite on HANA, sustainability, rapid deployment

SAP AG will offer a new set of openSAP courses to provide learners globally with increased access to courses, and to offer a wider range of courses for business professionals as well as developers.

The broadening of the openSAP offering follows the success of the company’s first massive online open course (MOOCs). Over 80,000 people signed up to ‘Introduction to Software Development on SAP HANA’, launched in April 2013, and overall 200,000 learners have participated in eight openSAP courses.

The three new courses to be introduced are:

  • SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA: The course discusses what changes and what stays the same when Business Suite is driven by HANA, and provides an overview of why Suite on HANA is relevant to various lines of business.
  • Sustainability and business innovation: Presented by Dr Peter Graf, chief sustainability officer at SAP, the course will cover best practices in sustainability, from strategy to business cases, business processes, engagement and reporting.
  • Rapid deployment of SAP solutions: This course explains how the methodology can be used to shorten the time-to-value, reduce project risk and deliver predictable business outcomes for users.

Dr Bernd Welz, executive vice president and global head, solution and knowledge packaging, SAP, said, “We believe that by addressing the broadest possible audience of professionals, students, experts and the general public, we help drive positive, tangible business outcomes across the world.”
SAP has also added extra capabilities to openSAP, such as social collaboration capabilities and a new iPad app that allows users to download and complete course materials offline.
