Global operations, maintenance and construction services provider Transfield Services has chosen SAP to mobilise its portfolio of businesses.
SAP will provide Transfield with a mobile application development platform including mobile device management, mobile enterprise application management and packaged mobile enterprise applications, including SAP Work Manager by Syclo.
SAP said the new holistic mobile approach will replace ageing mobile points, reduce operational costs and result in productivity savings. It will facilitate knowledge-sharing between Transfield Services’ 24,000 people and enable rapid access to information in the field.
On the project, Ivan De Oliva, general manager, ANZ transformation, Transfield Services, said, “Standardising on the SAP mobile platform will allow us to gain better visibility and leverage best practices more easily across our business divisions. With the SAP Mobile platform and SAP Work manager mobile apps, we will be able to empower our employees — from field workers to executives — with the real-time information needed to keep ahead of competitors.”
Andrew Fox, head of mobility, SAP Australia, said having instant mobile access to information will improve Transfield’s asset management and customer service.
“With the complete SAP mobile portfolio underpinning its business, Transfield Services can now enable improved processes across its business operations. Transfield Services will be able to better anticipate, accelerate and differentiate its business and deliver better service to their clients,” Fox said.
