HR/payroll and workforce management solution provider Presence of IT has partnered with the US-based Association for Workforce Asset Management (AWAM) to create a professional certification specifically for the Australian market.
Based on AWAM’s Workforce Asset Management Professional (WAM-Pro) Certification Program, the Australian version will be the first of its kind as a vendor-neutral, product-agnostic training program in workforce management.
Presence of IT will work with AWAM to tailor the learning materials to align with current workforce and technology issues, laws, and customs, in the Australian market and workforce.
“As businesses look for better ways to manage their workforce and control their labour costs, they will need more than just tools. They will need a standard of competency on how to use workforce management technology and apply best practice,” said Jarrod McGrath, workforce management practice director, Presence of IT.
“Presence of IT is pleased to bring this certification to Australia. This brings a structured framework to our staff and clients by which to define, implement and measure workforce management programs.”
The program will be completed by the end of 2015, with the certification course available in early 2016.
AWAM chief learning officer Rachel Disselkamp said though workforce management is a complicated and specialised field of practice, no vendor-neutral, product-agnostic training exists in the collegiate or business setting.
“The WAM-Pro certification differentiates practitioners, consultants, and implementers from their competition and recognises their holistic mastery of workforce management,” said Disselkamp. “It’s one thing to have specific product experts, but organisations need much more to achieve sustainable success. They need someone to serve as the bridge between the strategic business objectives and the operational technologies that execute on those goals.”
