Accenture opens new SAP centres in APAC

By Anne Widjaja

Accenture has announced that it will expand its global network of innovation centres for SAP solutions with the opening of new facilities in Beijing, Tokyo, and Singapore.

The aim of the centres is to combine Accenture’s functional industry expertise with customer offerings from SAP’s latest technologies, including the SAP HANA platform and mobility and cloud solutions. The centres will be focussing on accelerating the development, delivery and commercialisation of SAP-based business solutions.

Each centre will be co-located with the Accenture Global Delivery Network, Accenture Technology Labs and the Global Talent and Innovation Network. Clients will be provided with support from both Accenture and SAP professionals.

The centres will also work on creating unique solutions that address specific regional issues. These include:

  • Beijing: a focus on communications, high tech, utilities and retail industries solutions, to help address China’s growing energy demands.
  • Tokyo: a focus on high tech and electric power industries, including smart-meter analysis, for building energy-‘smart’ cities.
  • Singapore: a preliminary focus on consumer goods, utilities, oil and gas, and public sector industries. Also serving a hub to support clients from neighbouring countries including Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

“These innovation centres bring the best of Accenture’s global experience while enabling the localisation of those solutions to meet the specific business challenges in the region,” said Mark Willford, global managing director of SAP business for Accenture, about the goals of the new APAC centres.

Willford explained that the partnership would also aim to help clients maximise the value of their SAP investment.

“The new Accenture Innovation Centres for SAP solutions will help our clients in the Asia-Pacific region draw as much value as possible from their investments in SAP solutions, accelerating business results, and contributing to their international competitiveness.”
