ANSTO tenders for SAP update

By Freya Purnell
The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) has issued a request for tender (RFT) to update its current SAP-ERP system, which was first implemented in 2002.

According to the RFT document, the system’s limited functionality has impacted on ANSTO’s expanding business requirements.

“SAP at ANSTO has evolved over time to support the immediate needs of the day, rather than from a strategic and enterprise perspective of integrated enabling systems. The Ae Program is now being implemented to address the future requirements of ANSTO and provide a template for additional legal entities after completion of the program to be implemented efficiently into the corporate framework,” the document said.

The RFT covers three key components – consultant, support model and mobility.

Some of the changes at ANSTO that require an integrated ERP system support include the construction of the Australian Nuclear Medicine facility; the implementation of an Integrated Business Planning System; and other initiatives such as Workforce Planning, Asset Management Framework, Working Capital and Cash Flow Management.

The tender closes on 18 August 2014.
