BlueScope Steel has renewed its contract for IT services with CSC for a further 4 years, with two additional 2-year contract extension offers also available.
Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will continue to manage and deliver IT services such as consulting, applications development and support, disaster recovery, systems integration and end user services on a variety of technology platforms, including SAP.
“We have been pleased with our relationship with CSC through the term of the last contract,” said Andrew Baker, CIO BlueScope Steel Ltd.
“They continue to support us well in a difficult business environment. The further cost saving initiatives and service delivery improvements we plan to deliver with CSC are important to us. This new contract recognises the benefit of working with CSC and we look forward to continuing our relationship.”
Nick Wilkinson, President of CSC Australia said the compact is ‘delighted that BlueScope Steel extended its relationship with CSC’.
“A strong client relationship now and in the future will enable CSC to provide innovative, new technologies to maximise business efficiency and transform operations,” he said.
CSC has been under contract with BlueScope providing similar services since May 2000.
“Having worked with BlueScope to achieve significant results over the last nine years, we will continue to deliver price transparent competitive services and a robust governance model to ensure the success of the ongoing relationship,” Wilkinson continued.
The value of the deal has not been disclosed, but Baker revealed in his keynote address to the Mastering SAP Technologies event in Sydney last week the company’s IT budget changed year to year, depending on projects, from roughly $10-$50 million per year.
Baker added the company heavily outsources their IT to CSC.
“We’re heavily outsourced, particularly in Australia through CSC, and that then brings our numbers down to a very low level in comparison to other companies,” he said.
