SAP Vietnam recently announced the successful go-live of the country’s largest SAP ERP project ever completed across multiple business groups.
Deployed by CSC, the Hoang Ang Gia Lai Group (HAGL) implemented the SAP ERP solution to integrate all of its operations into a single system.
The solution will help the diversified company manage its multi-business groups across Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, and the requirements of its industry areas such as rubber, mining, energy, real estate and corporate office.
The implementation has standardised business processes through supply chain operation, across verticals and the IT system and to top management. HAGL says it has also sped up data processing time and will allow for greater financial control.
The project at HAGL is also the first SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) project to be successfully implemented in Vietnam.
HAGL spent a total of VND100 billion (US$5 million) over an 11-month period for consultation and solution deployment with CSC. More than 70 CSC consultants from Vietnam, India, the US, Germany and Australia worked alongside 400 HAGL employees from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia to complete the project.
The group also consulted with IBM and TabViet, a specialist in hard disk design and deployment, to acquire infrastructure and servers for the implementation.
This solution is now accessible to 400 users from 42 companies and branches in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
Son Truong Vo, deputy general director of HAGL, said was pleased with the outcome of the SAP ERP implementation.
“This well-defined SAP ERP system will serve as an excellent platform for HAGL to continue our aggressive growth plans as a leading multi-business in the region,” he said.
