In preparation for the fast-approaching General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) deadline this May, Redwood City, California-based agile data solutions provider Delphix has enhanced its data platform to deliver advanced algorithms specifically tuned for SAP data to facilitate compliance and accelerate application time-to-market.

The Delphix Dynamic Data Platform provides SAP-driven organisations with an automated approach to protecting non-production SAP environments, enabling organisations to identify and mask sensitive SAP data, quickly, simply, and accurately.

The platform intelligently profiles the many database tables in SAP applications to pinpoint sensitive data and applies masking algorithms to both SAP and non-SAP applications. This ensures that interfaces and referential integrity remain consistent across testing landscapes, whether they are exclusively SAP or hybrid.

The masking capability enables organisations to replace sensitive information with fictitious, yet realistic, data in SAP modules, including ERP. The platform employs advanced data virtualisation technology to then instantly deliver multiple masked data copies to non-production environments on-premise or in the cloud.

The masking capability neutralises the risk of a data breach, anonymising sensitive data such as customer records, intellectual property, and financial data that may be subject to privacy compliance regulations such as GDPR.

“GDPR is the most substantial privacy regulation hitting enterprises in the last 30 years,” said Holger Mueller, VP and principal analyst, Constellation Research. “The clock is ticking and any solution that helps CxOs quickly navigate the process for GDPR compliance on SAP data is highly attractive.”
