Department of Defence of Australia Veteran Joins SAP ANZ

Lindsay Morgan had been with the Department of Defence of Australia for a decade before moving into SAP ANZ.

Department of Defence of Australia‘s former CISO Lindsay Morgan has been appointed as Director of Government Security at SAP ANZ. Effective 20th of April 2020, he will be reporting into SAP’s global Government Security team while being based in SAP’s Canberra office.

In the newly created role, Morgan will focus on the security needs of governments in Australia and New Zealand ensuring that solutions are certified as fit for purpose, accredited for operation, and securely delivered.

The newly appointed director said:

“After many years working in government, I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to bring my experience and knowledge to bear on the private sector.”

“During periods of disruption, there is a heightened need for security, integrity, and availability of critical systems, for example, to enable and support a remote workforce and the increased demands that makes on systems. I am excited to work in SAP’s global Government Security team to ensure SAP remains at the vanguard of delivering world-class, secure solutions that are fully compliant with complex frameworks of Government policy and legislation,” Morgan added. 

Martin Merz, SVP, Global Head of Government Security at SAP and an expert in government relations shared his insights on the importance of the new position:

“Security is a critical concern for companies and governments across the world, and protecting the information of our customers is of utmost importance to SAP. “

“In this new role, Lindsay will work with the global SAP Government Security team, with a particular focus on the public sector, where his deep knowledge and impressive background in information assurance and government security will ensure our customers continued security and success,” Merz commented on Morgan’s expertise. 

Morgan had previously worked for Ericsson Television and NDS and had served in the Royal Australian Navy.
