Earthquake Commission chooses cloud for ERP

The Earthquake Commission (EQC) of New Zealand is implementing SAP Business One OnDemand in one of the first cloud-based ERP solution implementations for a New Zealand government agency.

UXC Oxygen is working with the EQC on the implementation.

Emma Hicks, EQC’s chief financial officer (pictured), said the agency selected the SAP Business One solutions because it aligned directly with its strategic criteria for the efficient management and settlement of natural disaster claims.

“SAP Business One OnDemand gives us a reliable, flexible cloud-based financial management solution. It will provide us with better financial and management reporting which in turn will improve the quality of decision-making information available to senior management,” Hicks said.

She added that by using virtual hardware and operating system infrastructure in the cloud, they could get access to integrated business management software up and running for less time and cost than an on-premise solution.

The EQC expects the new solution will also streamline its financial management activities.

“It will help us to minimise errors, automate reporting and further improve spending control,” said Hicks.

According to UXC Oxygen, their OnDemand offering provides a single, integrated solution that organisations can deploy quickly and then tailor with add-on functionality, with the added benefit of transparent per-user pricing, covering software and support on a subscription basis.
