Enterra Solutions to create cognitive computing solutions for HANA

By Freya Purnell

Big data analytics and insights firm Enterra Solutions has signed a global OEM agreement with SAP, to integrate its Cognitive Reasoning Platform with the SAP HANA platform.

Under the agreement, Enterra plans to develop and market advanced analytics and insights product and service offerings to run on HANA, targeted specifically to the consumer products, retail, entertainment and life sciences industries.

According to Enterra, its Cognitive Reasoning Platform helps to solve problems in a way similar to how a human would – by integrating symbolic logic and semantic reasoning with the automated ability to allocate statistical and mathematical optimisation techniques to the most appropriate calculation engine, and using natural language processing to simplify engagement with end users.

By combining these capabilities with the speed and agility provides for the management of structured and unstructured data in real-time environments, Enterra will make analytics and big data insights available to enterprises and government agencies.

Stephen DeAngelis, CEO of Enterra, said companies are ready for new forms of analytics.

“Businesses need to operate at a new cadence using new forms of data. We believe that through this new partnership with SAP and the integration of SAP HANA into our platform, we can extend our lead in cognitive computing for companies across industry sectors. We anticipate that this will allow iconic brands to leverage data present at every level of their enterprise into actionable insights for decision-making,” DeAngelis said.

“Today, it is not enough to answer the questions that you know to ask. We believe that it is also important to answer the questions that you do not know to ask before they become mission-critical.”
