Extend Technologies and AMT-SYBEX join forces

By Anne Widjaja

In a bid to deliver enhanced SAP mobile capability for asset management in the field, Extend Technologies has signed a Service Partner agreement with AMT-SYBEX, a specialist mobile systems integrator and provider of end-to-end mobile solutions.

This agreement will involve the implementation and support of the AMT-SYBEX Fieldreach mobile asset management solution, built on the SAP Sybase Unwired Platform. Fieldreach addresses requirements surrounding work and asset management, supporting a variety of business processes involving mobile field workers and their diverse roles. The solution enables easy embedding of existing business processes without the need for device-side software development.

Organisations including Transport for London, National Grid, Southern Water, Urenco and UK Power Networks have already implemented AMT-SYBEX mobile solutions.

Tony Parvin, business manager, mining solutions at Extend Technologies, explained that the partnership is a response to the growing need for businesses to extend the reach of mobile applications and devices.

“With SAP leading the way in enabling enterprise mobility through the Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP), we are excited to announce our partnership with AMT-SYBEX,” said Parvin.

“AMT-SYBEX is a global infrastructure and energy industry specialist and this partnership will provide enhanced MDM benefit to our constantly growing base of asset intensive customers.”

Brian Miller, deputy chairman, AMT-SYBEX, also commented on the strategic importance of the partnership.

“SAP has recently reaffirmed the strategic importance of mobility and AMT-SYBEX is closely aligning mobility product development and market development activity in the Asia Pacific region.

“Partnering with Extend, the leading SAP APJ partner, allows us to service the SAP ecosystem in the region more effectively.”
