SAP Australia and New Zealand has a new president and managing director, as Colin Brookes steps down from the role after 12 months to take on another opportunity with SAP globally.
Taking his place in the top job is Damien Bueno, who has spend the last decade with the vendor, during which time he has worked extensively with public sector customers. Most recently, Bueno has served as vice president for strategic industries and markets, SAP ANZ, where he pioneered a co-investment model with the Australian Government to support digital engagement with citizens.
In his new role, Bueno will join the Asia Pacific Japan Senior Executive Team, reporting directly to Scott Russell, who said, “Australia and New Zealand is a key market unit for the APJ region, having become a $1 billion business and delivering 22 per cent year over year cloud business growth. As an experienced member of the ANZ Senior Executive Team, Damien Bueno is a proven leader who embodies what it means to be customer-centric and employee-focused. I look forward to Damien supporting our customers’ future successes, as our ANZ business enters its next phase of growth.”
Russell also noted Brookes’ contribution to the growth of the business.
“Under Colin Brooke’s leadership, first as Chief Operating Officer and then as President and Managing Director, SAP ANZ delivered a relentless industry focus across its entire business with a shift to an industry-led Go To Market strategy. We thank Colin for his contributions to the ANZ business,” said Russell.
Bueno said, “Our customers are asking more and more of us each day, as they deal with the opportunities and disruptions that their respective industries throw at them. As a valued partner to help our customers succeed in today’s digital economy, it has never been a better time to be at SAP.”
