IT services group ASG has appointed Simon Denney as general manager – Victoria, to expand business in the state.

Denney was previously a district manager for F5 Networks, and also spent more than 11 years in senior leadership roles at Fujitsu Australia.

ASG said the appointment completed the group’s new management team, which will be responsible for leading the business following the recent acquisition of SMS Management and Technology. Upon completion of the integration, the combined business will comprise 2000 staff and annual revenue of around$500 million.

ASG group chief operating officer Dean Langenbach said Denney is an outstanding leader with strong Tier 1 experience.

“I am looking forward to the fresh perspectives that Simon will bring to the leadership team as we continue to evolve our complete digital transformation offering to customers in Victoria,” Langenbach said. “I am confident that ASG has the team and the technical capability to challenge as a genuine alternative in the IT space.”

Denny said he was attracted to ASG at this key point in the organisation’s history because of its reputation, capabilities and culture.

“There is a strong appetite to constantly evolve, exceeding the demands of an accelerating market,” he said. “I will focus on bringing our broadened range of solutions – from strategy development to implementation, management and optimisation – to deliver real and meaningful business benefits to both new and existing customers.

“Victoria is a fascinating and dynamic market where corporate and government IT services consumers are keenly aware of the potential of new technology and delivery models to transform their organisations but need expert assistance in making the right choices for the long-term. That’s a great opportunity for ASG and I look forward to realising those opportunities.”
