On the Move: NTT DATA makes senior appointments to drive growth strategy

NTT DATA Business Solutions is taking a new leadership approach to to enable the company, which is part of the NTT DATA Group, to execute a strategy to strengthen its market position, based around three key priorities – helping customers leverage big data, better harness the power of their SAP systems, and for SMEs, delivering effective cloud-based solutions.

On the appointments, Max White, co-CEO, NTT DATA Business Solutions Asia Pacific, said, “These executive appointments are a true commitment to our clients and the Australian market, to ensure we have the right skills and capabilities to drive excellence in service delivery.”

Nick Binns has been appointed managing director, Kim Benito will take on the role of general manager of client services, and Yoichi Omae has been appointed senior director, business operations.

White said Binns, a former CIO of Super Retail Group and startup founder, brings experience in delivery in innovation and translating strategic thinking into business results.

“We were conscious of the need to find someone who could bring the right combination of experience in business transformation and technology innovation. We purposefully selected a senior executive with a proven track record of driving results through diverse groups of stakeholders, while able to lead large teams to drive innovation and business success,” said White.

Binns said he is excited by the opportunity to lead the Australian team through the next phase of the company’s growth strategy, and noted that adaptation to the rapid change in the industry will be imperative.

“I have a strong belief in the NTT DATA Business Solutions offering; the technical expertise we offer, coupled with my team’s infectious passion and commitment to excellence means that we consistently equip our customers with the right end-to-end solutions through a single partner, to enable them to succeed in the market.”

Benito, who joins NTT from Zuora and previously Epicor Software, will take the lead on a newly created client services stream, bringing extensive experience in professional services and delivery.

“I have a strong and motivated team who will be working closely with our sales function to ensure we are standing side-by-side with our customers, fostering strong working relationships, and providing practice end-to-end service delivery,” said Benito.

“Managed services is a key priority for us to ensure we are keeping ahead of the curve, and that we are demonstrating the real value of our services. I’m passionate about challenging our clients to think about things differently, and ensuring we are expanding our solution set to help our clients succeed in a rapidly changing world.”

With 26 years at NTT DATA under his belt, Omae will offer his group-wide experience to the Australian business, having relocated to Sydney. He is charged with helping the executive team drive operational performance improvements to benefit Australian customers.
