SAP AG chief technology officer Vishal Sikka has revealed that the latest version of the SAP data management solution BusinessObjects will be available by the end of the year.
Delivering the keynote speech at the SAP TechEd 2010 conference in Berlin, Sikka said that BusinessObjects 4.0 is the product of SAP’s extensive efforts to “consolidate and harmonise” the BusinessObjects portfolio with NetWeaver.
“It’s an awesome release, it’s a once-in-a-generation opportunity for us to renew the entire BusinessObjects landscape, the entire BusinessObjects install base,” he said. “We’re extremely excited about it.”
BusinessObjects 4.0 is expected to be the first release to feature a consistent design across a variety of different solutions. It will also feature a multi-dimensional analytical capability, which will give users the ability to analyse different types of data.
