SAP APJ has announced the appointment of Mark Gibbs to the President of SAP Greater China, effective immediately.

He will be in charge of SAP’s overall businesses in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Before the appointment, Gibbs was the Chief Operating Officer of SAP Asia Pacific Japan. He has held the role of interim Greater China lead for the past nine months, and has been instrumental in re-energising the company’s business in the market.

He will report to Robert Enslin, President of Global Customer Operations and a member of the Global Managing Board of SAP AG.

“I am confident that with Mark’s full attention being focused to China’s success, SAP will become the leading business software solutions provider for this growing economy,” said Enslin.

“With more than 20 years experience in business software industry, Mark will lead the China team to continue delivering true value to all Chinese customers through our China Growth Plan and long-term commitment to the market.”

The China Growth plan endeavours to establish SAP as the preferred supplier of business software solutions in China by contributing to the country’s sustainable growth.

SAP China will host China SAPPHIRE for the third consecutive year later this month.
