Pat Bakey has been appointed by SAP as president of the Industry Cloud organisation, a role previously held by Simon Paris.
Bakey takes responsibility for the industry cloud footprint at SPA, which covers 25 industries globally, the finance and extended supply chain lines of business and the go-to-market execution of SAP Business Suite 4 SAP HANA (SAP S/4HANA).
Bakey has been with SAP for 12 years, first joining in North America as president of the Customer Relationship Management line-of-business organisation, before becoming president of SAP Public Services and later head of all strategic industries in the region. Most recently, he has served as global general manager for Consumer Industries.
Based in the Washington DC office, Bakey will report to Robert Enslin, member of the Executive Board of SAP and president of Global Customer Operations.
On the appointment, Bakey said, “We have a great opportunity to accelerate the innovation cycles across all industries via the simplicity and strength of our unique integrated operating model,” said Bakey.
“The cooperation across all primary SAP business domains ensure an end-to-end approach to defining and delivering value by placing the customer at the centre of everything we do. I am excited about the new areas of value this model and organisation can capitalise on going forward.”
