After an extensive international search, the Toll Group has appointed Françoise Russo as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Carl Duckinson, recently appointed by Aurecon, has been acting as interim CIO since former CIO John Ansley left the group in March.

Russo joins Toll with global experience for some of the world’s largest companies. After starting her career at Procter & Gamble, she spent seven years at Diageo, and the last seven year with British American Tobacco (BAT), based in the UK. Her experience has included time working across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, North America, and Latin America.

Toll Group managing director Brian Kruger said that Russo would bring a global perspective at a time when the business is embracing new technologies.

“We were conscious of the need to find someone who could bring global experience in digital technologies, business transformation, technology innovation and cost controls. We also wanted someone with a proven track record with business stakeholders and leading large technology teams to drive business success,” Kruger said.

“Françoise has a wealth of experience doing all of these things and we believe she will make a significant impact on the business in delivering IT-related business transformation projects that will make Toll more efficient, and improve outcomes for customers.”

Russo has located to Melbourne for the role, and will become the second woman on Toll’s global management committee.
