Craig Wishart has taken the role of chief information officer (CIO) at KPMG Australia, joining from UXC Limited, where he was CIO and CTO, with global responsibility for the ICT function.

Previously, Wishart has held executive IT roles with Service Stream, ANZ Bank, Telstra, Rio Tinto and Sensis, and is an advisory board member of the CIO Executive Council Australia/New Zealand.

“Craig is very well placed to lead our IT Service team, with his extensive experience and cross-industry exposure. He also has significant global expertise and is highly regarded for his cloud platform, security and risk and ICT transformation capabilities,” said Damian Templeton, chief financial officer, KPMG Australia.

Wishart replaces Anthony Stevens, who has moved into the newly created role of chief digital officer at KPMG Australia, leading the firm’s Digital Services team. Prior to joining KPMG three years ago, Stevens was CIO and head of business transformation for Spotless Group.

“Under Anthony’s leadership, the firm has implemented an unprecedented amount of change and transformed what and how ITS supports the firm. This transformation will now be accelerated under Craig, with technology key to supporting and managing our firm’s growth and development,” Templeton said.
In his new role, Wishart will be based in Melbourne.

“More than ever, organisations are challenged with transforming, evolving and identifying new ways of working. The opportunity to contribute to the success and future of KPMG is exciting. I genuinely look forward to working with the KPMG leadership and technology teams to maximise and optimise the investments we make within our business,” he said.
