Orica now use the Esker On-demand Faxing solution for outbound faxing directly from three SAP systems, both via Lotus Notes email and directly from the applications.
Until recently the company was reliant on ageing fax infrastructure located on site in their data centre in Melbourne. The solution was being used by all four divisions of Orica, including DuluxGroup, Orica Mining Services, Minova and Orica Chemicals.
Esker Fax on Demand combines patented Esker technology with a worldwide network, built by Esker for sending documents via fax from company and desktop applications.
With Esker Fax on Demand for SAP, companies benefit from automatic faxing as a service fully integrated with SAP applications – without adding hardware or software.
The new solution was particularly important for the DuluxGroup, part of the Orica family, who process more than 1000 sales orders every day.
“The timeliness of receiving inbound faxes is critical as a large portion of our customer base prefers to fax their sales orders to the Customer Service team. Due to challenging warehouse deadlines, it is vital to our service level that all faxes arrive as quickly as possible,” said Louise St Clare, Customer Service Manager at the DuluxGroup.
The Esker On-Demand faxing solution does away with the need for local infrastructure, without any loss of production, according to Esker Managing Director Christophe DuMonet.
“This solution is about not having any fax servers, no fax board no fax line, no infrastructure what so ever, and still providing the same capability in terms of faxing documents straight out of SAP,” DuMonet said.
Esker customers can also leverage the solution provider’s global capability to reduce the cost of transferring business transaction documents.
“We have global infrastructure in the US, Europe and here, to deliver those fax documents in a lowest cost routing type model, meaning that if an SAP system is based in Melbourne, and the document needs to be faxed to the UK, it will be cheaper to have the fax being sent straight from our infrastructure in Europe.”
