Presence of IT has developed an Australia-focused SAP payroll course, Off-The-Shelf Payroll Training, which it is offering at a dedicated training facility in North Sydney, New South Wales.
Rob Scott, human capital services practice leader at Presence of IT, said the program was developed to cater for small groups of individuals who might otherwise miss out on training.
“Often, the number of payroll people requiring training at a client does not warrant the investment in developing proper training materials – often they get no training or some hand holding from the implementation consultant,” he said.
“We have found that this approach has led to bad practices in running and managing the SAP payroll.”
Scott said courses are run by an experienced functional SAP expert and an experienced trainer, and can cater to between three and 12 participants at a time.
Modules covered include: Overview and Navigation of PA, OM, PY and PT, Organisational Management, Personnel Administration, Superannuation Administration, Time Administration, Pay Processing, Termination Administration and Year End Processing Reporting.
Attendees also receive a full set of training materials/work instructions and job aides.
“Our course has been built up from our extensive payroll and HR system and business experience founded in being a focused HR/payroll company, and had the input of some of the brightest SAP payroll consultants in the country,” said Scott.
Scott said Presence of IT runs separate courses for private sector and public sector clients, which allows it to focus on the unique requirements of public sector payrolls.
“Because the training has been designed in modules, we can offer different combinations of courses such as Intro/PA and Org (two days), or just an Org management course (one-day),” he said.
