ReadSoft has launched its new Process Director platform, designed to improve the handling of document-driven or request-driven processes within SAP, to the Australian market.
Already released in Europe and the US, Process Director is an SAP certified ABAP add-on, which can provide full purchase to pay and order to cash automation within the familiar SAP environment.
The solution was developed in response to requests by customers for automation of other document types, after ReadSoft brought out its accounts payable automation solution.
In Australia for the launch of the platform, Stefan Reiss, solution manager, SAP for ReadSoft globally, said, “We thought it would be better to have a document or process independent tool which has the right capabilities for many other processes – a one-stop shop basically.”
Process Director allows organisations to track and control processes, maintain an audit trail, improve data quality, and gain visibility around the volume of requests (particularly useful for shared services operations looking to charge customers for the services they access) – with full integration into SAP.
According to Frank Volckmar, managing director, ReadSoft Oceania, following the initial implementation a new process can be added to the platform in 10 days, allowing organisations to expand the platform’s footprint incrementally.
Reiss said the solution has been well-received in Australia so far, particularly by organisations operating shared service centres, reflecting the growing demand for streamlined paperless processing.
Having visited the Shared Services for Government 2010 conference, Reiss said he was surprised at how far Australia has gone down this path. “The shared services approach is much more established here than in Europe.
Typically the SAP market is always a little behind what we see in Europe especially, but in terms of structuring and centralising processes, they are more up to speed with what we see there, in terms of demand to turn paper processes into electronic processes,” he said.
