SAP and SAUG announce largest-ever Australian SAP event

By Anne Widjaja

SAP Australia and the SAP Australian User Group (SAUG) have announced they are joining forces on their events this year, holding the SAUG Summit 2012 and the SAP Forum Australia (replacing SAP World Tour) concurrently over three days.

To be held 21-23 August 2012 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the combined event will be Australia’s largest SAP event of the year, and feature the very latest in SAP strategy, technology and industry content.

Organisers expect the Summit to attract over 1000 senior executives, IT decision-makers and business managers from across Australia and the Asia Pacific.

Shane Grobler, chief operations officer and acting managing director, SAP ANZ, explained that the event has been designed to “enable dialogue between influencers, customers and prospects – along with partner and other members of the SAP ecosystem”.

Grobler commented that SAP and SAUG would be working together to show event participants how Australian businesses can evolve their IT landscapes whilst driving profitable business growth.

Ian Harvison, chairperson, SAUG, also said that he was “delighted to be partnering with SAP Australia in this exciting initiative”.

Harvison explained that the three-day SAP event would not just provide SAUG members and SAP customers with the opportunity to learn how to maximise their IT investment, but also do so “in a unique networking environment”.

The schedule of the event includes:

–    SAUG Summit 2012: a paid, two-and-a-half day component that includes presentations by international and domestic keynote speakers, SAP technology experts, SAP customer case studies and panel discussions.
–    SAP Forum Australia: A free half-day forum replacing SAP’s annual World Tour event, featuring the latest in SAP innovation and content directly from the May 2012 SAPPHIRE NOW conference in Florida.
–    An exhibition showcase by sponsors.
