SAP has announced that its BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation (BPC) application for NetWeaver will be supported by the SAP HANA platform.
The announcement was made at Financials 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to SAP, powering SAP BPC 10.0 version for SAP NetWeaver with HANA will provide increased agility by allowing enterprises to plan better and act faster with better insight into information by harnessing big data. The application will significantly enhance unified planning, budgeting, forecasting and consolidation processes.
The application is posed to be the first enterprise performance management (EPM) application capable of supporting the HANA-based SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse component.
“As a leading provider of EPM and core financials applications, SAP has driven the industry’s agenda in innovation in the office of the CFO, so it comes as no surprise that these applications have been the most requested from customers and partners to run on SAP HANA,” said Sanjay Poonen, president of global solutions, SAP.
Poonen said a major advantage is that SAP HANA allows financial professionals to “perform faster planning, query, reporting and analysis, profitability and simulation in real-time”.
“As a result, SAP helps companies accelerate period-end closing and smarter decision-making – faster than other vendor offerings available today.”
