SAP Business ByDesign, together with SAP Business One solutions, was recently positioned in the major players’ category in the 2020 IDC MarketScape for the worldwide SaaS and cloud-enabled midmarket ERP applications market.
DuluxGroup brands have been household names and most trusted across Australia and New Zealand. Outside of its core ANZ market, it has a strong international presence in China, Hong Kong, South East Asia, and Papua New Guinea, where it is an established market leader manufacturing Dulux paints since 1968.
Leveraging SAP technology that is already being optimised in DuluxGroup’s Australia and New Zealand offices, the enterprise decided to extend the proven technology to its Papua New Guinea production site. Melbourne-based IT consultancy and SAP Gold Partner Acclimation was selected to deploy SAP Business ByDesign, SAP’s cloud-based ERP solution for mid-market businesses, across its Australia and Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) operations.
Simon Barstow, DuluxGroup PNG General Manager, said:
“Deploying the new solution was a critical step for the team, as it lets us create proposals and quotes more easily, process orders and remotely check inventory, as well as communicate with the Australian office more efficiently.”
“The implementation was smooth, and working with Acclimation has been a true partnership. SAP Business ByDesign gives us full control and lets us move faster. With data and insights at our fingertips, we can make more informed decisions on forecasting, stock and production to help us maintain market share in a competitive market.”
Integrating SAP Business ByDesign
SAP Business ByDesign has been integrated with DuluxGroup PNG’s inventory, orders, sales, manufacturing, and shipping. Aside from upgrading and aligning the PNG system with DuluxGroup’s ANZ operations, the cloud-based ERP solution has also enabled the PNG sales team to turn around accurate quotes more efficiently and gain access to inventory analysis. Consequently, they were able to identify and reduce stock adjustments by more than 80 per cent.
Cameron Sherrard, a managing partner at Acclimation, shared that with the rollout of the SAP solution, DuluxGroup’s decision-makers have a better understanding of data since the new system allows them to extract more detailed data on its product and stocks. He said:
“Implementing this new solution helps DuluxGroup PNG provide data and insights that can be used for more informed decision-making on forecasting, stock, and production.”
The Cloud-based ERP for SMEs
For the fast-growing, mid-market businesses, SAP Business ByDesign offers intelligence and automation in a single cloud ERP solution to enable management of financials, logistics, procurement, shipping, and human resources.
It is a cloud-based on-demand business management solution designed for small or midsize businesses. A full-featured cloud ERP software solution allows customers to enjoy the power of large-scale business applications without the need for IT infrastructure. Much like how DuluxGroup leverages the power of this SAP solution, SAP Business ByDesign can also be used by subsidiaries of larger companies to take advantage of head office resources, while keeping their flexibility.
At the recent online event Global Partner Summit, SAP has announced that it now offers 12-month free access to SAP Business ByDesign and SAP S/4HANA Cloud to help support its customers’ journey to recovery.
