SAP SE has formed a number of technology partnerships with Internet of Things security companies, as it seeks to deliver IoT solutions on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform.
Recognising that the overall security resilience of any IoT is only as good as its weakest link, SAP will work on its security offering with companies including:
- azeti Networks AG, for a remote monitoring and management application that will be integrated with SAP solutions to provide improved operational insights.
- Certified Security Solutions, to provide secure identity and validated data transfer between IoT end point and enterprise business systems.
- Check Point Software Technologies, for a security architecture designed to catch malware.
- Intel, to provide an end-to-end reference model and products that integrate with the SAP HANA Cloud Platform for the IoT, to create a foundation to connect devices and deliver data to the cloud.
SAP will also partner with Panoramic Power, a device-level energy management solution provider, to integrate Panoramic’s wireless and self-powered sensors with SAP solutions.
“Any scalable and significant IoT offering requires an end-to-end security solution — from the edge devices and sensors, through the routers and network gear, to the back-end data center and data pools, to the applications, and back to mobile devices, analytics tools and an endless number of interfaces,” said Tanja Rueckert, executive vice president, IoT and customer innovation, SAP.
“SAP is leading the industry by co-innovating with its customers and partners to address IoT security challenges. As our customers’ needs and demands are on the rise, we are more committed to IoT security and driving innovation in this space.”
