SAP has announced the delivery of new capabilities that will
improve companies’ demand management and business planning processes,
including tools with a real-time view of market information.
The SAP Enterprise Demand Sensing application provides businesses with a real-time view on all market activity, including sentiments from social networks, allowing them to respond to and predict demand.
“The availability of these demand management tools is a game changer for SAP customers,” said Thalbauer, senior vice president, Line-of-Business Solutions for Supply Chain, SAP.
“Predictive analytics capabilities allow users to significantly increase the short-term forecast, which in turn boosts sales and increases profits, all using a connected enterprise.”
The application also captures historical forecast trends, compares and blends different forecast sources with demand analytics and characterises demand by analysing historical forecast accuracy, bias and intermittency trends.
The release of the new solution comes just after the introduction of the SAP Demand Signal Management application, powered by the SAP HANA platform. This application integrates all relevant internal and external demand signals into a single source of information.
The combination of these two new services and the SAP Advanced Planning and Optimisation components, results in an end-to-end demand management solution to enable demand-driven supply chains.
