SAPPHIRE NOW: SAP Fiori and the latest version of Business One announced on day two

By Eleanor Reader

In a big mobility announcement, SAP has released its first wave of new business apps with SAP Fiori and a new version of SAP Business One.

Twenty-five new apps to simplify and improve business function

SAP has launched SAP Fiori, a collection of 25 apps for broadly used SAP software functions, such as workflow approvals, information lookups and self-service tasks.

The company worked with over 250 customers to garner which of the most common business functions could be improved and simplified.

“We are on a mission to renew the experience across all of our applications. Users demand simplicity and ease of use, and SAP Fiori brings this experience to our customers,” said Vishal Sikka, member of the Executive Board of SAP AG, Technology and Innovation.

The apps can be used on mobile devices, tablets and desktops using browsers that support HTML5 and deployed as a collection of apps with a single launch pad, as multiple web apps, or consumed from SAP or third-party portals.

The first release of SAP Fiori includes apps for manager, employee, sales representative and purchasing agent roles.

Version 9.0 of SAP Business One announced

SAP has announced the general availability of the 9.0 version of SAP Business One running on Microsoft SQL.

The latest version of the SME business management solution has over 50 new features, including greater collaboration with the Ariba Network, newly integrated development environments for partners, consultants and customer IT employees and a central location for implementation and configuration tools.

The 9.0 version of Business One on HANA is now in restricted shipment, SAP stated.
