Siemens, Accenture release HANA Cloud Platform solutions

Siemens has announced plans to build an open cloud platform for industrial customers, based on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform.

The new offering will provide a platform for data-based services Siemens offers for predictive maintenance, asset and energy data management.

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) will also be able to create their own applications on the platform to exploit the open infrastructure for data analytics, such as optimising fleet operations.

The development extends on plant data-based services Siemens unveiled in 2014, which allows for the continuous recording, preprocessing and analysis of machinery and systems data.

“The establishment of the new cloud platform will make a significant contribution to driving forward the digitalisation of automation. Powerful services for analysing data from industry are an important part of our digital enterprise strategy,” said Klaus Helmrich, Managing Board Member of Siemens AG.

The open cloud platform for industry is currently in a pilot phase and will be gradually rolled out to further customer groups during 2015.

Meanwhile Accenture is also expanding its human capital management offerings by making available Accenture Clone and Test software on the HANA Cloud Platform.

Accenture Clone and Test will complement and extend the capabilities of the cloud-based Success Factors Employee Central software, to deliver reliable and authentic HR test data for companies by providing a secure environment for the copying and testing of data.

Many companies are now taking advantage of a cloud HR delivery model to integrate their personnel management processes, said Michael Detwiler, managing director, Accenture Software.

“Delivering Accenture Clone and Test on SAP HANA Cloud Platform helps our clients automate and accelerate data tasks. This lessens the administrative effort in setting up new test environments and helps increase operational agility,” he said.
