SAP partner Soltius New Zealand has become the first provider in New Zealand to offer Neptune Software solutions to its customers, signing an exclusive partnership deal.
Neptune provides a platform for any SAP functionality to be available on devices such as smartphones, tablets and desktops, using HTML5 controls.
According to Soltius mobility manager Craig Bennett, the partnership provides SAP customers with a new and innovative way for mobilising their existing systems.
“To us, partnering with Neptune Software is a case of responding directly to customer demands. We will continue to invest in, promote, implement and support SAP’s Enterprise Mobility offerings. What Neptune Software provides is a rapid, cost-effective option in what is a very dynamic area,” he said.
Neptune’s solution is SAP certified and can be implemented very quickly on an existing SAP NetWeaver-based system. With an ‘inside out’ approach, customers can also leverage their existing infrastructure and skills investment, enabling them to develop their own solutions for their specific business needs.
“Solutions are developed from within the SAP system and with the capabiilty to use online or offline data, you can use the solution anywhere. And with the optional use of PhoneGap containerisation, we can also very simply create mobile applications that can access common device features,” Bennett said.
Neptune’s development environment supports the visualisation of the solution on mobile devices as it is being built, alllowing the customer to be more directly involved in the design process.
“Our first experience using Neptune with a client allowed us to deliver a fully functional prototype within five days. Seeing it working beats seeing it on paper any day,” Bennett said.
