SuccessFactors named among leaders for SaaS HR systems: Forrester

By Nicholas Greene
The Forrester Wave SAAS HR Management Systems (HRMS), Q4 2014 report has identified eight vendors as the most significant for providing software to medium-to-large companies: Workday, Ultimate Software, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, Meta4, FinancialForce.com, Ceridian, and ADP.

Of the eight, four – Workday, SuccessFactors, Ultimate Software, and ADP – top the overall rankings, with Workday first among equals as the top choice for large organisations seeking to migrate their HR solutions from on-premise to SaaS.

SuccessFactors was hailed for its Employee Central solution, which Forrester called “a solid system of record … to complement its leading talent and learning capabilities”.

“Traditional HR software has focused on either talent management or system of record,” says Mike Ettling, president, HR Line of Business at SuccessFactors.

“SuccessFactors Employee Central shows that’s no longer the case as we’ve moved to true systems of engagement, which allow for the alignment of people and strategy to business outcomes and put HR in a much more strategic position to the CEO. Customers are looking for flexibility and simplicity, along with mobile access, social collaboration and engagement. We’re thrilled to be recognised for our full comprehensive SaaS HRMS offering that combines engaging user experiences, a global system of record, deep talent management functionality and a multinational payroll engine.”

Ultimate Software earned its leadership badge in this Forrester Wave thanks to its “mature depth in HR transaction management and payroll, as well as innovative new offerings in recruiting and onboarding”, wile ADP was lauded for its product line known as Vantage HCM which rungs the gamut from talent to compliance and for its innovative approaches to Business Intelligence (BI) and user experience.
