Unisys Forward! certified for HANA

Unisys is now offering SAP customers another hardware option to run SAP HANA, with the certification of the Forward! by Unisys Model 4150B server.

The Forward! platform has an advanced fabric architecture with Unisys’ secure (s-Par) software to create a partition with dedicated processing, memory and input/output resources of reach application workload.

The server has been certified for deployments of HANA in a single-node, bare-metal configuration – a system running without a virtualisation hypervisor. This, according to Unisys, enables clients to run HANA in the bare-metal environment with other application workloads running in the s-Par partitioned environment.

The configuration gives SAP customers significant flexibility and potential for infrastructure savings for real-time analytics and other mission-critical applications.

Rob Cashman, vice president, mission-critical servers and solutions, Unisys, said the certification is the latest step in Unisys’ initiative to provide clients with real-time analytics solutions based on SAP software on the Forward! platform.

David Ireland, General Manager – Technology, Unisys Asia Pacific, added:  “Unisys is already working with SAP on some specific engagement opportunities in Asia Pacific (which we can’t name due to commercial confidentiality reasons).  With the global certification for the Forward! Model 4150B server to run SAP HANA, we look forward to working more closely across the region.”

Unisys is an SAP OEM partner; a provider of partner-managed cloud; a member of SAP Co-Innovation Lab; an SAP services partner; a member of the SAP PartnerEdge program for Application Development; and a certified SAP software solution and technology partner.
