Unisys has signed an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with SAP and plans to provide managed cloud services for the SAP HANA platform, enabling Unisys to provide real-time analytics solutions based on SAP software on the Forward! by Unisys enterprise platform.
The OEM agreement will allow Unisys to deliver software licenses for SAP HANA in bundled data analytics solutions for banking, government, airlines, healthcare, and communications service providers.
The managed service offering will enable clients to access analytics services for HANA in a Unisys- or partner-managed data centre through a pay-for-use subscription.
Unisys is one of the first SAP partners authorised by SAP to deliver a hosted implementation of HANA for the US Federal Government market, and the managed services offering is initially targeted at this market.
According to Unisys, the approach will enable the increasing number of organisations with a ‘cloud first’ solution delivery policy to have on-demand access to hosted big data applications with the benefits in security, cost and operational efficiency of managed services.

The Forward! by Unisys platform combines Intel Xeon family processors in an advanced fabric architecture, to provide a reliable, high-performance platform with the appropriate security attributes for SAP solutions.
