Kaba release new version of workforce management software

By Nathan Dukes

Kaba’s latest version of their workforce management solution, B-COMM ERP for SAP ERP, comes with a newly designed user interface.

In this latest release, B-COMM ERP 4.0, all processes have now been converted to the J2EE Java technology.

Kaba said this simplifies the data flow, because only one computing language is used from the terminal communication to the connection to SAP.

The solution has been designed for time recording, shop floor data collection and access control, and collects relevant data for the SAP HR system.

Version 4.0 has been certified by SAP for the HR-PDC interface. The user interface has also been redesigned and updated in parallel to the basic software.

The solution is browser-based and runs on both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

The first module with this new look solution is Visitor Management, for the management of visitors and third-party companies. This enables the generation and management of badge numbers and visitor cards in the B-COMM ERP 4.0 system independently of SAP.

It allows visitors and non-employees, including staff like cleaning and service providers, to take part in the company’s existing time & attendance and access control processes without his or her data reaching the SAP system.

For further convenience it is no longer necessary to enter badge data- instead data can be recorded using the B-Net 91 07 reader.

‘The system provides the receptionist with an overview that lists announced visitors, current visitors and visitors who have already left,’ Kaba said in a press steatement.

‘All in all, this new visitor management makes the receptionist’s work easier. Badges can be handed out more quickly, and the receptionist is always informed.’
