SAP Australia has announced Greg Miller will take on the role of local head of SAP’s new Global Partner Operations (GPO) organisation.
This new position replaces and expands the former general manager, ecosystem and channels role, previously held in ANZ by Beth Ryan. She has resigned from the company, effective 13 June, and will be taking a sabbatical.
The creation of the Global Partner Operations organisation, to be headed by Rodolpho Cardenuto, was announced last week.
Miller, who has been COO Of SAP ANZ since 2012, will now be responsible for “accelerating the company’s growth through new and existing sales channels”, particularly for the company’s cloud solutions and HANA platform. He will also manage the SAP Business One application set for small businesses, SAP’s OEM business and other strategic partnerships.
SAP has set a goal of achieving 40 per cent of its revenues globally through collaboration with channel partners, distribution partners, services partners and original equipment manufacturers by 2015. Miller will be charged with pushing towards this goal locally, and said the company is “well on its way”.
SAP ANZ president and managing director, Andrew Barkla, said over the past two years the company has recruited and enabled more partners in the areas of mobile, cloud, in-memory, analytics and applications, and collaboration with partners will become more important with a further push into the cloud.
Since 2013, SAP has certified an additional 60 partners to provide cloud services.
As part of his new GPO role, Miller will also seek to ramp up SAP’s delivery to the small and midsize business segment with “purpose-built cloud solutions, a targeted go-to-market strategy by industry and customer size, new routes to market and a consumer-like experience for customers and partners”.
“SAP and its partners have a decisive opportunity to deliver the technologies Australian and New Zealand SMBs need to compete and take market share,” Miller said. “We plan to continuously provide additional solutions from SAP and via our partner ecosystem to enable next generation businesses to compete and win.”
