Queensland University of Technology (QUT) has signed an agreement with SAP to deliver certified training courses through the establishment of a SAP u-academy.
The courses are designed to enhance the expertise of existing SAP users and offer others not already in the workforce a competitive edge.
“The SAP u-academy training partnership is a great achievement as QUT is the only academic institute in Queensland to offer these courses,” said Dr Darshana Sedera, senior lecturer at the School of Information Systems at QUT. “Our u-academy will help to address the SAP skill demand in regional Queensland as well as in Brisbane.”
The courses will be delivered through QUT’s ‘Study-ERP’ group, which offers research and professional education opportunities in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
The SAP certification will involve two to three days of intensive class contact followed by two to three months of study with access to a trainer. At the end of the period, students have the option to sit the exam to receive their SAP certification.
“We are excited about QUT’s membership with the SAP u-academy,” said Anette Karlsson, SAP’s regional education director for channel partners. “There is strong demand for skilled and certified SAP staff in the region.”
