SAP Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) software revenue growth continues to skyrocket, with the company recording double-digit growth in the region for the 11th consecutive quarter.
APJ’s third quarter 2012 software revenue grew 12 per cent, while software and software related services revenue grew 16 per cent.
According to SAP, the growth can be attributed to the increase in customer demand for mobile, analytics and SAP HANA in-memory database solutions.
“We have maintained our consistent track record of growth in the APJ region, with database, technology and analytics making up 40 per cent of our revenue mix. Japan and China grew 36 per cent and 43 per cent respectively,” said Steve Watts, president, SAP Asia Pacific Japan.
The region continues to adopt SAP in new, innovative categories, with mobile revenue growth at 111 per cent and China and Southeast Asia reporting triple-digit growth.
“This quarter, we saw more customers harness the power of in-memory computing to deal with the surge of mobile devices and data volume in the enterprise,” said Watts.
The most popular sector for the region was analytics and HANA, with a particularly strong performance in analytics from China, ANZ, Korea and India.
Solid growth in the public sector, banking, auto, high tech and retail industries also contributed to the third quarter results.
Watts said the company’s regional focus on the ecosystem and channels is also paying off.
“Our ecosystem and channels investment in APJ has resulted in strong indirect sales growth of 45 per cent revenue growth year-on-year and 51 per cent growth in the number of SAP-certified professionals as an increasing number of partners and service providers deliver applications, analytics, cloud, mobile, database and technology solutions to more customers across the region,” he said.
