SAP Labs has used the recent Indo German Urban Mela, held in Bangalore India, to showcase its smart grid solution.
With a focus on sustainability, the smart grid is designed to conserve energy through sustainable sources during periods of high-energy supply and channel this to allow a constant flow of energy.
Clas Neumann, senior vice president and global head at SAP Labs, said the increasing need for sustainable practices has contributed to their development of the smart grid.
“The need for a sustainable tomorrow has led to the development of solutions that help us achieve this. SAP recognises the need for energy channelisation and conservation in today’s rapidly evolving world.”
The interactive hands-on model that SAP Labs presented at the Mela facilitated the education of visitors.
“We are thrilled to showcase our model at the Indo German Urban Mela to educate the visitors on how ICT enabled energy infrastructure can be used to tap and utilise sustainable sources of energy,” Neumann said.
