SAP Mentor and SAP BusinessObjects guru Ingo Hilgefort monday afternoon demonstrated the scope of BusinessObjects solutions at the Mastering SAP Technologies Conference.
Hilgefort explaining the possible uses of the toolset, and functionality of BusinessObjects Explorer and the Xcelsius dashboard tool in a demonstration to conference delegates.
Ingo is the Group Procurement Manager for SAP BusinessObjects in Canada, but most know him for his extensive work within the SAP community as an SAP Mentor.
He is one of six Mentors featuring at this year’s event.
Ingo’s presentation demonstrated the ability to connect the business objects tools together and the use of different tools depending on the situation.
“You have a lot of flexibility between applications,” he said.
“You can find the data in BusinessObjects Explorer, and then utilise it in say (BusinessObjects) Web Intelligence perhaps to share it with a larger audience. Sometimes not everybody has access to Explorer, but then they just might not be able to use it because it’s too complex.,” Hilgefort said.
The demonstration was also a display of the speed search query results can be returned with BusinessObjects and Business Warehouse Accelerator.
The presentation was targeted to casual users- focusing on the basics of the toolset.
Ingo is hosting a full day workshop at the conference tomorrow where technical users can bring their own computers and try BusinessObjects tool for themselves.
Ingo, as with all presenters at the event, is also available to delegates for questions and discussions in what event organisers call the ‘Speakers Corner’.
“It’s very unique idea,” Ingo added. “Honestly I’ve not seen it anywhere else. I’ve already made a couple of contacts after the first day.”
Doug Hay, Alliances Manager for Eventful Management, stressed the importance of this level contact as a key draw card for their events.
“Ingo will also be returning to Australia to present at the Mastering BusinessObjects conference in Melbourne this June,” Hay said.
The Mastering BusinessObjects conference will be held in Melbourne from the 31st of May to the 2nd Of June.
